A secret garden at the service of exquisiteness
Acontraluz, in the Sarriá neighbourhood of Barcelona is much more than a restaurant. It is a secret garden where good taste and delicacies are the order of the day. All this has been made possible by more than twenty years of experience in the field.
Mucho were responsible for the brand renovation and its return to the forefront of the local restaurant scene. The new logo comprises a pattern of lines with the difference in thickness of the inner lines representing the light filtering in. Acontraluz means literally backlighting or against the light.
Photographs were taken “against the light” of different leaves to create the graphics. Hence creating a direct link with the garden of the restaurant which is one of the most emblematic features of the place. This led to the design of the menus, the stationery, the exterior signage and banners for the restaurant web page.
Lastly, and in sync with the day-to-day, Acontraluz has created an alternative space within the restaurant where a more relaxed and daring cuisine is being explored. Named Luz Acontra -the result of flipping the brand name, it has been designed with the idea of the Soul Food Van in mind and aims to be the guiding light for the new generation. This new venture will continue the culinary traditions and good practices which have always characterised the Acontraluz restaurant.
