This book documents the conception and construction of the Design Hub building, the centre for design in Barcelona, by Oriol Bohiga’s MBM Arquitectes. The construction is one of the biggest centers for design in the world. It hosts the most important national design institutions and is also the site for the Museum of Design. The building works as a connector on many levels, connecting neighborhoods and districts, professionals, disciplines, cultural and technological areas and even historic moments.

The publication uses a large format to accommodate the amazing and abundant photography available. It also allows for an elegant and spacious read, adding a solemnity to the book which the client asked for. To underline the idea of connection, we created an unique cover and divider page solution: in both cases the paper is die cut using shapes derived from the construction plans to generate ‘windows’ connecting spaces and chapters.
