Fauguet
Fauguet
A monograph on French artist Richard Fauguet, one of the best of his generation, was published on the occasion of an exhibition with the Fond Régional d’Art Contemporain (Frac) d’Île-de-France. His highly varied work was not all that widely known due to this variety of experiences.
The goal was to draw attention to the considerable underlying coherence in the artist’s protean work.
We selected the images for the book over more than a year in close collaboration with the artist and the Frac editorship, consulting hundreds of sketchbooks, photographed pieces and installations.
Fauguet often plays on the RF of his initials, which match those of the Republique Française, or French Republic.
With the notion of the monograph serving as an “identity document” for the artist at this point in his career, we designed a cover featuring a disproportionally large passport of sorts
