Haute Dentelle
Haute Dentelle
Enhancing lace as a timeless fashion object of desire
“Haute Dentelle” is an exhibition held at the Museum for Lace and Fashion in Calais which is dedicated to hand-made and mechanical laces.
The exhibition shows us just how the lace woven on Leavers looms is used by famous worldwide contemporary fashion designers. Featuring sixty unique pieces, ‘Haute Dentelle’ brings together no fewer than fourteen haute couture and luxury prêt-à-porter houses. Chanel, Vuitton, Dior or Valentino – names that are synonymous with excellence – are all featured. Lace is displayed as a timeless fashion object of desire.
Mucho was asked to work on the exhibition design, signage, communication material and catalog alongside Sylvie Marot the exhibition curator.
Who inspires whom?
The answer to this question helped to define the concepts contained in the exhibition and on which we based our design: collection, innovation, creativity, exclusivity, research and development.
Subtle typesetting details using the font Marian designed by Paul Barnes from Commercial type, along with beautiful photography by Robin, work together to achieve an aesthetic that pays tribute to both laces manufacturers and fashion designers mastery.
