Free, feminine & fun
Kimpton Vividora is a new hotel in the gothic quarter of Barcelona. It captures a combination of the heritage, the fun and the free spirit of this particular neighborhood as well as a crafted and premium hotel experience. To do so, Mucho and Kimpton teamed up to create a muse for the hotel and a brand strategy that resulted in a new identity, brand naming and visual language that could mold a unique customer journey and experience.
The name Vividora (feminine for Vividor), refers to someone who enjoys life to the fullest, the pleasures it brings and takes pride in doing so. It explains like no other name the feminine spirit and combination of culture, history and cutting edge modernity that coexists in such a natural way in the Barrio Gotico of Barcelona. A place known for its amazing cosmopolitan life and dinner options, its thrilling nightlife and its laid-back and multicultural ambiance.

To define it’s visual language we collaborated with artist Laia Armengol who’s paintings play with the idea of color mixtures and the beauty of shapes merging from undefined boundaries. The colorful pieces mixed with the beauty of a custom font that combines classicism and neocentism, construct a unique attitude cooked with some classic Barcelona elements. As part of the universe created for this hotel two more outlets were created with an independent spirit but complementary to the attitude of the Vividora: Cafè Got and Terraza de Vivi.
Cafè Got is a Tapas and wine bar at street level where the word got (“glass” in Catalan) is composed with hand-printed shapes that are transformed in typography, The identity helps the casual attitude of the bar and reflects the personality of the menu where you can try drinks, tapas and share food.
Terraza de Vivi
Terraza de Vivi is an elegant rooftop restaurant and cocktail bar where you can experience the Gotico from the terraces and take a bath in the swimming pool while you have a drink or take a bite. The identity is sister to the hotel identity for it is a complimentary service to the stay and it reflects the elegance and sophistication of the experience.
Inspired by the iconic Eixample home of Barcelona, Fauna is a place to get carried away by the details of a well curated and beautiful casa. Fauna is character. Fauna is having dinner at a friends house, where meals are flavored and enriched with local ingredients for you to enjoy. Fauna means wildlife in spanish and catalan, but this word can also be used to describe a colourful crowd at a dance club. And hence the masks of the this vibrant wildlife emerge. The whole identity is crafted around the platanero, a very relatable tree which can be found all over the streets of Barcelona. Using its bark as a canvas we produced different portraits in order to represent all that local Fauna that would show up in the restaurant ready to be amazed by the uniqueness of local gastronomy.
