“Monumenta” is a monumental exhibition at held at the Grand Palais in Paris. Each year, this spectacular glass and iron structure features an artwork by an internationally renowned artist. The year we were involved, it was Richard Serra and his metal structures. These structures all have a slight five to seven-degree incline. To create the image, designed together with Laurent Stosskopf, we devised typographical structures and supports with similar inclinations. Thus, with a bold and condensed typeface, we achieved inclined structures similar in principle to Serra’s sculptures.
