The Civic Center is home to some of San Francisco’s most important buildings and institutions including City Hall, the San Francisco Ballet & San Francisco Symphony. The goal of the Community Benefit District (CBD) is to improve coordination and communication around the management, safety, beautification and cleanliness of the greater Civic Center area for the benefit of patrons, residents and other visitors within the district.

If you conduct a search for the San Francisco Civic Center, you will find maps that show an outline of the neighborhood marked by a dotted line, which also happens to represent an arrow. The solution became obvious, we rotated the arrow and always had it pointing up. It’s a symbol that suggests movement, growth and improvement. It’s also a symbol and a shape that the Civic Center of San Francisco can really own.
