Thinking through making since 1926
Based in Seattle, Teague is one of the world’s oldest and most reputable product design agencies. As their slogan says, they’ve been ‘Thinking Through Making Since 1926’, building relationships with global brands like Boeing – who they’ve been designing aircraft interiors for since the 1960s. However, they’ve enjoyed such success with Boeing that many clients weren’t aware of the full extent of the company’s experience, capabilities or heritage.
To promote a broader understanding of their company, Teague asked us to create a ‘heritage’ section for their website. Our first question was: where should the current work section end and the heritage section begin? Deciding that it made more sense to combine the two, we conceived an image-based timeline to showcase all the great work produced by Teague since 1926.
We designed an interactive timeline using thumbnail images, divided into decades starting with the present day and moving back through time to 1926. Users can increase the size of the images to find out more about particular projects and read related press articles. Today, every time a potential client visits the work section of Teague’s website, they’ll find a vast range of projects for an equally broad spectrum of clients – not just Boeing. It’s a simple solution that succeeds in promoting Teague’s heritage as well as its full range of capabilities and expertise.
