Mucho’s “Heey! Heey!” Poster Featured in Offcut’s Latest Book — “Poster Archive 200”

We are beyond excited to see our poster design “Heey! Heey!” featured in OFFCUTS’ newest curated collection titled Poster Archive 200 (PA200) — a celebration of standout poster design from around the world. Originally designed at our San Francisco office, seeing our work in the pages of an international design book, marks another proud moment, for Mucho.

“Imagine what our real neighborhoods would be like if each of us offered, as a matter of course, just one kind word to another person.”

A look back at the project

Designed by Mucho’s brand design team for the London Design Festival 2019, the “Heey! Heey!” poster was part of a broader campaign titled “Hey Neighbour!”. The project aimed to promote friendly connection and community, and profits from each limited-edition print supported The Manna Society; A London-based charity aiding the homeless — an important cause we remain proud to have supported.

The challenge for our Mucho team in San Francisco was to capture the feeling of genuine human connection — the warmth of neighbours greeting one another — using a bold, graphic visual language. This is how the name “Heey!” was born, embodying the spirit of the design: a warm, friendly greeting that feels natural between close friends or neighbors. This is further reflected by the double “ee,” which adds a playful touch that highlights the casual connection between neighbours; the central theme behind the poster’s message.

About OFFCUTS & the poster book

OFFCUTS is a UK-based publisher known for collaborating with artists and designers across the globe to release limited-edition publications, prints, and objects. Their latest book, Poster Archive 200, showcases a curated selection of poster work from international creatives, and we are honored to be featured alongside such an inspiring company.

“The short-lived nature of a poster, often incites interesting design. But, unfortunately a poster serves a temporary objective and we don’t get to enjoy them for long. This book allows you to appreciate them for a little longer. Bringing hundreds of designers together, to celebrate and preserve a curated archive of 200 posters. The archive is accompanied by interviews with Dimitris Koliadimas from Semiotik Design, Jay Cover, and Edmund Lock from Two Times Elliott, who share some insight into their process when creating a poster.”

You can purchase the book from here.
