Albert is an AI-native platform built for scientific discovery. Designed by chemists for chemists, it connects experiments, data, and insights into one intelligent Operating System, helping research teams move faster from idea to breakthrough.
Our design strategy moves beyond the traditional world of lab notebooks and static scientific tools to create a look and feel that reflects the excitement of discovery. The goal was to make chemistry engaging again, transforming complex data and experimentation into an experience that feels dynamic, intuitive, and inspiring for modern scientists.
Logotype & Symbol
Rather than making an obvious reference to Albert Einstein, we chose to hint at the name’s heritage more subtly. Looking closely at Einstein’s signature, we discovered a beautiful swooping motion within the initial letter, a small but expressive detail. This informed a modern reinterpretation that connects past and present without feeling literal.
Newstalgia
By acknowledging the history of scientific breakthroughs, we positioned Albert not as a disruption of tradition, but as its next chapter, empowering discovery through the acceleration and insight made possible by AI.
Material with meaning
Liquid Glass wasn’t chosen because it was fashionable. The world of chemistry is inherently defined by glass — conical flasks, petri dishes, goggles, microscopes, tools that have enabled discovery for generations. We translated this material truth into a modern design language, shaping both the user interface and the wider brand expression.
Good chemistry is a shared formula
At its core, chemistry is collaborative. Sharing formulas and testing ideas quickly across teams accelerates discovery. This is where AI has the greatest impact on the industry. We introduced a simple formula language, x + x = y, into the brand system to express this idea of collective progress. It becomes both a storytelling device and a playful graphic element across communications and swag, reinforcing Albert’s ambition to bring energy and excitement back to chemistry.
The result is a brand and product experience that repositions Albert as a new operating system for scientific discovery. Moving beyond traditional laboratory aesthetics and legacy notebook systems, we created a visual and strategic language that makes discovery visible, intelligent, engaging, and future-focused. The brand reflects the speed and possibilities of AI while remaining credible to chemists, bringing clarity to complex science, energizing the user experience, and establishing Albert as a catalyst for faster collaboration, smarter experimentation, and breakthrough innovation.
