The Type Tablet

“Perfect typography is certainly the most elusive of all arts.” So said Jan Tschichold, one of the most outstanding and influential typographers of the 20th century.

Tschichold’s quote was the inspiration for this exclusive lasercut acrylic tablet we produced for a small selection of clients. In 2012, we were invited to provide a visual response to the Australian Design Biennale call for entries publication, based on the theme ‘Start Again.’ Creativity is often about having the courage to discard ideas and start afresh. This concept was at the heart of our contribution, where a Type Tablet was transformed into a fragmented composition with the aid of a hammer.
