For over three decades, the Fundació MACBA has been the bedrock of MACBA (Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona), providing unwavering support even when only a handful of dedicated citizens and art founders were familiar with it. The Foundation has played a pivotal role in the transformation of the “El Raval” neighborhood, home to the museum, shaping a private collection, and supporting directors in realizing their visions.
This book pays tribute to the different eras and milestones in MACBA’s history and acknowledges the critical role of its foundation.
The white color, a significant element in the museum’s architecture, receives a special homage in this publication. Interestingly, the book features a printed white color that exhibits unique reactions across the three types of paper used within the book.
